In the woods today. A path seldom explored. A very large fallen tree. Some investigating, reflecting on it. Two trees, actually, and a lot of black burn marks. Speculation that a lightning bolt had struck it and split one tree into two, sending them falling in opposite directions and setting fire to them or scorching them. A violent, sudden occurrence...in contrast to the creation of paintings, which could be seen as ponderous in comparison. Maybe only thoughts occur as instantaneously as lightning, or the random moments in nature that seem like magic to us - like a crackle of electricity.

Revelation. Or rather, a reaffirming of a revelation - The concept that 'UFO's' are not craft

but are projections from our minds (or they are several things). They might be a thing seen to individuals who seek balance and transformation (Carl Jung). I'm tying things together over a gap of decades. My paintings from a long time ago, at a pivotal time in my life where perhaps I was seeking transformation, in which I tended to include disk-like shapes, hovering over wild landscapes. Ties in with other ideas - waking in the early hours to see a beautiful, chandelier-like object hovering above me - lights in the sky - both things specifically mid-summer. Thus, this could be 'projections' from the earth (what some call Gaia), as well as from our own minds.
