In the woods today. A path seldom explored. A very large fallen tree. Some investigating, reflecting on it. Two trees, actually, and a lot of black burn marks. Speculation that a lightning bolt had struck it and split one tree into two, sending them falling in opposite directions and setting fire to them or scorching them. A violent, sudden occurrence...in contrast to the creation of paintings, which could be seen as ponderous in comparison. Maybe only thoughts occur as instantaneously as lightning, or 'enlightenment', or the random moments in nature that seem like magic to us - like a crackle of electricity - blink and you miss it.
